Leadership

IAM Certified Leadership Programme

For people who lead others at any level — team and project leads, supervisors, managers, heads of function, and leaders of community organisations. Designations: IAM Emerging Leader and IAM Organisational Leader.

IAM Certified Consultant Programme

For external consultants and internal advisers who improve how organisations are managed and run. Designations: IAM Associate Consultant and IAM Certified Consultant.

How it is written

After your post-nominal

Designations carry no letters of their own. They follow your membership post-nominal, so the grade shows your Career Stage and the designation shows your competence: “MInstAM, IAM Certified Manager”.

Two routes

Course, or direct

Take the IAM course and then the assessment, or — with the experience the specification requires — go straight to the assessment. The standard and the designation are identical on both routes.

One application

Designation and grade together

The membership grade is assessed in the same application under Regulation 3, and every fee includes twelve months’ membership at the grade the evidence supports.

Built for busy professionals. Monthly intakes; short online units of 60 to 90 minutes; live sessions in evening and weekend slots, recorded; portfolios assembled from work you have already done; three assessment opportunities per component at no charge; and a decision within ten working days of the final component. Delivered by the Institute, by IAM Recognised Centres, and in-house for employer cohorts of ten or more.

After the award

Faculties and Recognised Employers

Every designation holder joins the programme’s Faculty at no extra charge — a Directory listing, mentoring under the Institute’s Framework, peer learning groups, practice resources, and an annual forum. Organisations that develop their people through a programme may apply for IAM Recognised Employer status, listed in the Directory and entitled to the Recognised Employer mark.

First cohorts. The four programmes admit their first intakes now, monthly. Early designation holders form each Faculty’s founding members and shape its first annual forum.
