Every fee the Institute charges — individuals, organisations, centres, and endorsed providers — published in full. No fee is charged that does not appear here, and no fee secures or influences any assessment, recognition, or awarding decision.

How fees work

Priced for the economy you work in

Fees follow the World Bank income classification of your country — residence for individuals, principal office for organisations, country of delivery for per-learner fees. The standard, the assessment, and the credential are identical everywhere; only the price changes.

Individual fees fall further than organisational fees because personal income differs between economies far more than institutional budgets do. Your tier is set at application, reviewed at renewal, and updated within 90 days of any World Bank reclassification. Hardship reductions are available on application.

Which tier or band am I in?

Find your country

Individual subscriptions are tiered by your country of residence; organisational fees are banded by the country of operation. Choose a country to see both. The tier follows the World Bank income classification current at application, and the Institute confirms it when you apply.

Country

If your country is not listed, the Institute assigns the tier from the same classification at application. Tier 1 and Band A are high-income economies; Tier 2 and Band B upper-middle income; Tier 3 and Band C lower-middle and low income.

For individuals

Professional Membership

Most individual members pay £195 a year — the Member grade at Tier 1 — and half or a quarter of that in Tier 2 and Tier 3 countries.

If you are already a member. The eleven categories and the fee schedule on this site apply to new members and to upgrades. Existing members keep the grade they hold and continue on their current subscription for as long as their membership remains active. The new CPD Regulation takes effect for everyone on 1 January 2027, the first CPD Year; nothing about CPD changes before then.

Single rates, the same everywhere

What a first year costs. A Tier 1 Member applying by the Recognition of Prior Learning or Experience-Assessed route pays £240 in total — the £195 subscription plus the £45 application fee; a Tier 3 Member pays £94. Applicants who complete the Certified Programme pay the subscription only. A 14-day cooling-off period applies to every payment.

Professional Designation Programmes

Leadership, Consultant, Manager, and Trainer

A designation costs £950 or £2,100 as a package with the course, or £380 or £1,100 for assessment alone — each including a year’s membership.

Every package and assessment fee includes twelve months’ membership at the grade the evidence supports; existing members receive a twelve-month subscription credit instead. Three assessment opportunities per component are included at no charge. In-house cohorts of ten or more receive 15% off the package price.

“Course, assessment and award” is the package for an IAM-delivered course. The designation-only lines are the direct route for experienced candidates, and the fee for learners of a Recognised Centre. Recognised Employer status is charged on the corporate scale — see each programme page. Subscriptions from the second year are at the published membership rates above.

For organisations

Corporate Membership

Most employers join in the Growth band at £2,750 a year, with 25% off every subscription their staff take.

An annual partnership fee by band, plus your people's own subscriptions at a discount. Membership stays personal — it belongs to the individual and travels with them — but the organisation pays, administers, and sees aggregate assurance data.

A worked example. A Band A employer in the Growth band enrolling 60 staff — 40 Affiliates, 15 Associates, 5 Members — pays £2,750 for the partnership plus £4,913 in discounted subscriptions: about £7,663, or £128 per person for a recognised credential, a development pathway, and CPD for every one of them.

No minimum spend, ever. The Institute sets no annual minimum registration or spend obligation. A centre that registers three learners in a year pays for three learners. Volume credit: above 50 learners in a recognition year, 10% of the learner fees above the fiftieth is credited to the following year. Reassessment is free — all three opportunities, at every centre, in every band.

For Endorsed Providers

Endorsement Scheme

A typical short course costs £150 to endorse for two years; nothing is charged annually.

Endorsement fees scale with the size of what is being endorsed, measured in Programme Learning Hours. A two-hour webinar and a hundred-hour diploma do not take the same work to review, so they do not carry the same fee.

Deliberately simple, deliberately affordable. Endorsement is granted to a course, not to a provider, so there is no annual fee, no portfolio charge, and no monitoring visit — one fee, one review, two years. Renewal is half the fee. The Institute’s interest is in the learners: each may register and receive an IAM co-badged eCertificate and digital badge for a single £45 fee that also makes them a Student Member for the year.

Sector discounts

Up to 50% off organisational fees for charities, non-profits, government, and education

The Institute reduces its organisational fees for sectors whose administrative capability serves the public. The discount is applied after the country band, to Corporate Membership, centre recognition and Programme Approval, endorsement, and Recognised Employer fees.

One sector discount applies to an organisation; discounts are not combined with each other or with cohort discounts, and they do not apply to individual subscriptions, which are already tiered by country of residence. Status is confirmed at application and reviewed at renewal.

Payment terms

When and how fees are paid

Individuals pay annually in advance from admission or renewal, through the IAM Portal. The total payable at first application is shown before you commit.
Organisations are invoiced in pounds sterling, payable within 30 days. Application, approval, and renewal fees accompany the application; annual fees are invoiced at the start of each year of the period; learner fees on registration, or consolidated monthly by arrangement.
Instalments are available by agreement for smaller organisations and for all Band B and Band C organisations — ask before the invoice falls due.
VAT. All amounts on this page are stated exclusive of VAT and equivalent taxes, which are payable in addition where they apply. Bank charges, currency conversion, and local transaction costs are borne by the payer.
Application and renewal fees are not refundable if an application is refused, deferred, or withdrawn, because they fund the assessment itself. No fee secures an outcome.
Non-payment consequences are as the Centre Agreement and Schemes provide, and never include withholding a certificate from a learner whose registration fee has been paid.
